English Schools Team Golf Championships
William Parker almost won a third successive title in the English Schools Team Championship at Came Down Golf Club in Dorset as they finished in second place.
The boys won the title at Penn in Wolverhampton in 2008 and successfully defended at Thetford last year with 81 Stableford points after finishing runners-up at Coventry Hearsall in 2007. The William Parker line-up included two of last year’s victorious team in Steven Gibbs and David Wicks while their third man this time was Lewis Tiltman.
Mr Feery reported that this was an outstanding result after having secured the Sussex Schools Championships at U’16 and U’19s. This means that we are the only school to have been ever present at the Championships (you need to win your County event prior to competing), and we have now finished 7th, 5th, 2nd, 1st, 1st and 2nd.
