Victory for Year 8 Football Team as they retain the County Cup
The William Parker Sports College Year 8 football team have rounded off a fantastic season by winning the County Cup on 23rd March. The game was played in the wonderful setting of Lancing College, on a pitch that any team would be proud to play on.
William Parker got off to a brilliant start when Harry Gooch scored a powerful header from an Oliver Tutt corner. After that both teams enjoyed good possession and had a few good chances to score. Towards the end of the first half Jack Pearce pounced on a rebound to slot home to make the score two nil at half time.
William Parker then started the second half strongly and Eddie Finch scored two quick goals to almost secure the game. Durrington then tried to make a comeback and managed to get one back, but Oliver Tutt scored a fantastic goal from 35 yards to make it 5. Durrington then got one back but William Parker were always in control and Wayne Giles rounded off a fantastic performance to secure their second successive victory in the County Cup.
