About William Parker

Introduction

William Parker is a fairly large college in Hastings, with a roll of approximately 1450. Years 7 to 11 are boys only but the sixth form is mixed with about half the sixth form classes taught on the site of Helenswood Arts College, a girls school.

William Parker is a specialist Sports College and exhibits a high degree of commitment to Sport both within and outside the curriculum. Recent students include Gareth Barry (England and Manchester City football) and Michael Yardy (England and Sussex cricket).

Hastings is situated on the south coast towards the eastern end of Sussex, roughly between Dover (40 miles to the east) and Brighton (40 miles to the west). It is about 60 miles from the centre of London, and about the same distance from Calais, France.
